Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

Thanks Satay, but I don't have a thermostat. I have got a lamp and it is sitting on 35 nicely. Here is the set up so far. ( bedding yet to go in ). Got my elavated feeder ( made out of a yogurt pot ) and a lid with marbles in it for the water. Do you find water becoming warm a problem or should regular changes be enough? I could freeze a couple of marble to keep the water cool?
All looks good there Luke. Did you put some vent holes in the lid of your brooder?

Probably could melt now you say that. Maybe safer not to. We always used a red heat lamp with our baby cockatiel which is what made me wonder.

Yeah, hopefully they should be all o.k....that's if they even hatch.lol.

Hay, a question about our adult quail eggs. Some of their poop has a white foamy cap on it ( just like the stuff that comes out when you sex them ), is this normal?

Good idea, the red celephane shouldn't burn or melt, would it? About 1 quarter of the top is open, so plenty of ventilation there.
Looks like your good to go. If you have any quails in your tank after about the 2 week mark you may have to put some wire over the opening as they can jump really high by that age and may get out but besides that your all good to go. When are your quails due to hatch?

Thanks, yes I have done that any way just to make sure. I read on the quail stick note that chicks have reported to shoot up into the air and smack their heads on the lid

but hopefully I will sell them all before 2 weeks.
They are due to hatch tomorrow!!!!
