Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

Your ducks are great Satay.
Is the one at the back a Penciled Runner? They are my favorite.
My Runner doesn't seem to be much of and athlete when it comes to running.lol. She rather takes to the air.

 Lucky!!! I am going down there now, picking her up and telling her to get laying or she's off.

The one at the back is a harlequin runner. Least I think that is what he is called.

do you want some marans? they're very cute..

I use a brinsea brooder in a dog cage with fly screen secured around it. Also has a 'tent' that covers the cage. The brinsea is expensive, but draws bugger all electricity and doesn't burn chicks, only gives the heat underneath. A few pics to show my brood from last Christmas

No need for thermometer or thermostat, they choose where they're warmer underneath. If its cool, I put the tent cover over. Just watch them, their behavior will tell u if they're too cold or hot :)

So I posted a pic a month or so back of an egg. I just assumed that since it was in a nesting box it must have been from my langshan, but they just started laying two days ago and their eggs are over double the size, so now I'm wondering who's laying these eggs in my coop, I've gotten three so far about a week apart, none of them had yolks but looked like they had embryos, tiny and dark brown. So not a pigeon, sparrow or blackbird, buggered if I can work it out. But I'm pretty happy they aren't chicken eggs lol

And these are my little bubbas, langshan cross bantams

They look great, I have been thinking about getting one for a while now. But I don't use a thermostat or thermometer with my heat lamp either. I figure they are smart enough to get under if they are cold or out if they are hot. it has worked so far.
