Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

Ok I am living with weird chickens ...When I went out to feed my RSL's and gingerhams this morning the RSL's feeder had been knocked over and was open (don't know how the bottom got unlatched) I picked up the top of the feeder and it started moving, the next minute one of my gingerhams jumped out of the RSL feeder!!... Thinking she may of been picked on I Just went to check on them again and here she is with a layer pellet in her beak and proceeded to eat it, even though she has her crumble.

Here's the little feeder dweller, she is the darker one in front.

5 months isn't as long as you thought? Wow I thought my favs were the slowest breed ever when they took that long lol. How long can a maran take? I hadn't realised they were slow starters.

Our SPW are both 26 weeks (6.5 months) and none from them yet, I have no idea why I thought Maran's took longer to develop, just read someplace they were a bit slower, so I had in my mind something like 24-28 weeks. Always better to expect it longer than the other way around!

Just have to wait and see, they have to get out of the egg first!
