Tea tree oil on the wasp bite and use a cotton ear bud , dipped in the oil also and wipe it on the ticks back. It will make him let go without emitting toxins into the host.
When we had tick problems on our dogs, I started washing them with Martha Gardeners wool wash. The eucalyptus kept them away.

Thanks for that Fancy. They wear tick collars as well as the spot on tick stuff but I think I will try the wool wash too anything is worth a go. The neighbour that lost their dog to a tick also lost a cat to one last week as well so ticks freak me out. Wonder if you can wash your cat with wool wash?

I went out this morning at the same time Pepper laid her first egg yesterday and no egg yet. . It seemed like a long watch for the first egg and now the watch out for the second egg has begun.Let me know if you got another one Sara.

I remember those early days of stalking my chickens looking for eggs lol. Actually I think I stalked the wellies for weeks too last year waiting for their first egg. Gosh help the marans in a few months time lol. I hope you don't have to wait long for your next egg.

I should have gone with my gut feeling and taken the rest of the eggs off the coro hen. Just found another chick squashed, this one was completely shrink wrapped. I think I will start the incubator up yet again and confiscate the others. She's a first time mum and she has a few things to learn. Good news is the other 2 I took off her are doing fine.

Sometimes the new mums take a while but it is hard to loose them anytime . Bummer. Glad your other chicks are doing well.
