My favourite are the Wyandotte , with the coronation Sussex coming in at a close second . King George is of course my favourite chook, he's standing on the outdoor table looking in the window at me as I type. ' Wheres my breakfast woman '? I let the new Silkie babies out to have a dirt bath with momma yesterday and George came running to see them. He loves babies !

Do you mind sharing the cost and supplier of that? I have been keen to find one after seeing a local breeder with them. Chicks won't overheat and you don't waste power running a lamp when you don't need to.

Sure ben. It's a w.a seller so you may even be able to pick up there depending on where they are to you. I paid $43.00. There are many cheaper chinese ones on ebay but i wanted one that was an aussie seller and product.

I lost Isabel and all her chicks last night. I could see little red mites on them, so looks like they must have been eaten alive. I feel so bad for putting her in one of those stupid cheap fur wood pens now, she would have been better off under the house. I really loved that little girl
