Someone asked me yesterday if you had to only have one breed of chicken what would you keep? Hard choice that one so... I thought about it and I guess I really couldn't part with my pekins... so for all the others on here that have more than one breed which would you choice to keep if you could only have one breed?

Mmm, let's say there was a massive flood coming and there was only room for one breed on the ark, it would probably be my beautiful coronation Sussex. But somehow Id find a way to stash a dozen fertile Wyandotte eggs. Lol , I know that's cheating.

My Olive Eggers at the moment. But Molly and Emily (my first two Marans girls) would be there wearing a comb net that makes them look like they have pea combs. I couldn't part with those girls realistically.
Check out how red this Marans egg is from the moulting girls. It was a kind of matt texture as well.

Love the marans egg.. I am sure we would all find a way to sneak some extra with us if that was the case like fancy said. Hubby says if there was a fire here and we had to get out in a rush he can see me with the ute packed with snakes, two dogs a cat and a chicken in every spot left lol.
