Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

Rain what's that lol.
Mum came up yesterday and showed me here pics from Tassie. I was shocked to see some parts of tassie are as brown as here. I thought the whole of tassie would be green :)

These little guys had their first outing with mum yesterday. So cute watching them in the dirt bath. King George is always close by, keeping an eye on his bubs.

At this time of the year I have to water the garden every day. I don't water the grass cause it will come back. Hobart and the peninsula are much drier than we are here in the valley. The horses hooves are dry and split now and in spring they need gumboots. Tassie is definately the land of extremes.

Beautiful birds Luke. ... I'll stick my hand up to buy some eggs when they are laying if you are planning on selling some :)
Congrats on your hatch satay, I've got to put some chick pics up soon, all my little human babies have been sick for the past two n a half weeks and now my youngest has swallowed a coin a few days ago so I'm waiting on him to poop it out...wooo hoooo!

Don't envy the job of finding it. :sick

Hi Everyone,
I'm in Queensland & new to chickens. I have 5 utility chicks that are 5 weeks old and coming along nicely. They are living in their converted coop but we still have to build the run. Our neighbour has a dog so I can't afford to let them adventure over the fence. I'm quite paranoid about snakes so I'm interested to know if any of you do anything to deter snakes apart from building a fortress for your chickens?

hi and welcome. I have never had a snake problem and I'm rural . using good wire is a great deterrent for snakes. The stuff they use on bird aviaries is the best.
