All good finally got it out just before. My neighbour suggested a soap and sugar pollis? thingy to put on it last night, I left it one til just before and pulled and the wood came out.

Yes my husband is familiar with the sugar and soap polis. I thought he was joking when he told me about it years ago. But those old remedies obviously work.
