Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

I think I'm getting too sentimental with my chooks. Today a lady came to visit that was desperate for a coronation Sussex pullet, to replace the one she' d hatched from my eggs. It was taken by a quoll. I sold her the one little pullet that I had from my first hatch. She was ever so pleased. But King George is not so happy. He didn't go back to his girls tonight, instead he is sleeping on the bench just outside the front door. He has never done this before . I'll go out and put him to bed.

The babies are starting to hatch!!! :celebrate  I got home at 5.30 and went straight out to the girls, had to use a torch because it's dusk by then.

Could only see two, one looked well, but the other had died - don't think it absorbed the rest of the yolk properly.

Really excited what tomorrow will bring; it's going to be hard to attend my final day of my WHS course that's for sure.

:weee
We want pics!

Hi all fellow Aussies.

I'm in the central highlands of Victoria in a town called Little Hampton. I love my girls and right now have 2 black orpington males that will be ready for a new home if anyone is interested. They are 10 weeks and mum chicken has just started sleeping on her own again. Here are some pics of my other girls.

Black Orpingtons are amazing but alas I have got enough roosters myself.
Are you sure they are roosters? The pictures are real hard to see but they don't look to rooish. If you can get some better more close up pictures I am sure I will be able to help.

Hi, these aren't the newest babies, these 2 are 7 months old. I'll take some photos of the new ones tomorrow so you can help me work it out. The 2 in the pic you see are a girl and a boy. So I'm pretty sure that the newest lot there are 2 boys.

Will post pics tomorrow
