Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

Thanks Fancy & Satay! Scrambled egg with crumble has been served & it's clear that bricks won't help. Lol. Snowy helpfully breaks up the bits of egg & drops them on the sand.

Lol. I knocked off early but she is still not playing nicely. She somehow managed to turn herself 90 degrees on the eggs while I watched and not a sign of the chick. Do they pick them up under their wings or something?? I was having a peek under her wing and I think for a second she actually considered pecking me! Thought better not encourage that so will leave her be till tomorrow.

I'm just surprised how tiny it is. Photos of day old chicks don't really convey that do they.

So should she just get up and leave the rest of the eggs tomorrow? When she was turning round I had a bit of a view of what's left and still nothing else hatching. Do I remove them tomorrow morning which is day 25 or should she work out it's all done herself do you think? There wouldn't be a chance anything's going to hatch from day 25 on is there?

I'd leave her decide, but I have had chicks hatch anywhere from 18-26 days. Candle them before you make a decision .

I hope so. 6 pips now none out yet.

I just noticed on a Facebook group that bellaroo poultry closed and sold off all their stock. Looks like it was a quick close down. I was actually looking there for my australorp eggs at one point.

I'll leave them be then, not really sure I'd know any more after candling though. A million photos later and I still find it hard to tell if they are any good or not. Maybe I'll take a quick look tonight if this rain lets up. Was flash flooding down the coast, will see how we get on.
