So we built these yesterday but seems to be a lot of waste still. Do I need to bend up a bit more or make it higher? They refuse to eat it off the floor of course!

Nice ! If you go into the hardware you can pick up those plastic pot planter saucers for a couple of bucks. I use them for water.

Introduced the silkies yesterday

Mia and Bella hang together and Speckles and Penny stay together and they just kinda ignore each other lol
The only time they seemed to notice each other is when they were eating and Bella pecked at Speckles and Penny to go away, so now they give her a wide birth.
Mia and Bella went into the roost as it was getting dark without any problems, but when Penny and Speckles went to go in later they were abit confused as to what to do lol

I would raise them at least a brick's height above the ground.

I'll raise them a bit if that doesn't work I'll change the angle.

I'd like a big water container so sock of filling up the little ones all the time hahah thats next project. Then a garden fence. Then an incubator. Will be xmas 2015 before I know it ;-)

Oh my gosh Fancychooklady your ducklings are adorable. My partner wants ducks. When we get a property he can have them. But hes cleaning them. He just doesn't know that yet

Just want to share my beautiful boy who has fallen in love with the chickens and loves to snuggle with them, they don't seen to be afraid of him at all and even peck at him to gently move him before snuggling down next to him.
