Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

Fancy, yeah, that is a pretty serious condition for a horse. And all too often owners cause it themselves, when they take the horses back inside after the summer, they can't always handle the change in feed. Then you get to tube them to flush their tummies. I've only done that to a dog though.

Horses are very intelligent animals, I would not be at all surprised if the horse actually understood what happened.

He was a race horse 18 months ago and I'm sure he would have seen some of his buddies go in similar fashion.

FF is fermented feed.

I think it's not that uncommon for horses to keel over after races, it's quite a big shock for the system. And horses are among the easiest animals to kill. They easily develop infections from the smallest of bruises even.

Very true. It's not published usually. They ran the Japanese import at the Caulfield the Melbourne cup they believe he had a heartattack

Last year MC racer Verema died after the race. No one new unless they bet on her.

The industry try to hush it as racing is big money business

Again that's why I admire and respect @Fancychooklady daughter for rescuing ex racers

Araldo kicked a fence because someone waved a flag in his face, hairline fracture to the cannon bone was having immediate surgery to insert plates. Autopsy is being performed on Rakiti, I suspect cardiac hypotrophy will be cause of death. I won $50 and had first and second picked

On a brighter note our OTT thoroughbreds are having a great season. She took the young one last weekend on his first SJ comp. there was a bit of rearing and nonsense but he'll catch on.
