Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

Hello, I'm fairly new here and thought I'd catch up with my fellow Aussies. I'm from the WA wheatbelt and have buff sussex, Indians and Bantam brown leghorns. Is there anyone else out this way?

Definitely not out your way but raised in Perth and lived for a while in Beverley. Welcome!

Patience has paid off .. After a week or so of letting the little ones have a free range by themselves before the big girls got their free range, the little ones have grown in confidence in the garden and found some good hidey spots. This afternoon, I bit the bullet and let all of them out together (except cranky, grumpy broody Cilla who is still in lock down to break her broodiness and also the fact that she is taking her matriarch role a little too seriously and needs some time out to readjust her attitude). Everyone seems a lot more relaxed!

Anyways, the littlies copped a couple of pecks but definitely nothing too serious and at one point, they were all together pecking in the grass .. the big gals were so very well behaved so tomorrow they will hopefully be able to spend the majority of the day with the flock (- Grumpy!).

Hi guys I just got 2 new red Isa Pullets to join my flock of 8 chickens and 2 geese. Just seeking advice on how long I should wait before letting them out to be free range like the others during the day?

Aww I would wanna so keep both

Fancy, cute chick, and Tim, he's a nice looking boy, hopefully he'll make a nice meal.

Here's a weather update:

Same view as earlier:

We cleaned out the run and did some roost modifications, so the chickens were driven out in the snow. They kept trying to find a dry spot though.

Hopefully they'll like their new roosts, they got a bit of a swing too.

Looks great! we're going into our godless summer, wanna swap?
