How long do you quarantine for?  30 days?  Mine is just a bunch of old wooden skids put together & covered in camouflage material.  Then I have an old swing frame made into a make shift coop area for them. The winds blew down the swing/coop area.  I have not had any new ones added to the flock since July. 

Heat sounds good, but not working in hay.  We have been cutting firewood.  It is 36F or 2C here.  I cant wait until spring

30 days is what I do. Heat for fancy is probably 20c It's lightly raining and extremely humid today.. Gotta love a qld summer. Edited to add I did a search on tassies weather today.. OK you are gunna suffer at those temps today.

Yep, 4-6 weeks as a rule. I've seen some great swing set conversions, 'up here for thinking' . Should be in the mid 30's here today but a shower forecast this afternoon, along with a thunderstorm. I went out at 5-30 am and filled up all the water troughs. We have adopted a black swan, as soon as it hears me in the morning , it starts calling to me, it was very pleasant sitting by the river with my cuppa tea and keeping her company. But now I'm off to pick out the dock heads before the hay flicker gets here. Keep stoking that fire, if there is one thing you can rely on , it's that spring is on it's way.

I'll have to take pics when we get it back in working order. It was just a 3 person swing, like a porch swing. The material of the swing dry rotted after a few years, but I saved the A frame to build the chicken set up.

God im impatient, 12 hours till I can go pick up my new chookies!!!! It's too long.
I settled my remaining 3 bantams into the bigger tractor in the front yard this afternoon so I can put the new chooks in the enclosed coop for quarantine. Can't wait to have my new permanent coop built (
(Sorry to ramble , my husband is sick of talking chook lol)

You can never have too many chook houses!

I am up to 17 plus associated broody and quarantine cages.

41 degrees here today. Chooks should be OK.
I have large shade trees in all pens.

Beautiful eggs Outpost JWB!

It feels cool here today & it's 27C. I still can't figure out how that is when a warm summer day in the UK was 16C. We are having a lovely rainy day today. My chooks only run for shelter when it pours. They don't seem to mind the steady rain at all.

My quarantine setup , I have seperated Tonks up top for now but will open it up this evening so they can roost together, they are from the same breeder but not met before so didn't want to add more stress right away.

And my girl Suzie checking everything out, she likes chooks, even shared her kennel with our last lot who were free range, unfortunately her son Loki sees them as feathery chew toys so no free range any more!

Do any of you guys bottle stuff?

Trying my hand at it and not sure if I'm doing it right. I heated the jars and screw top lids in the oven for 20 mins then added the sweet mustard pickles and it all bubbled around the sides. I didn't fill right to the very top though and later read something saying for screw jars you need to. I'm going to store this lot in the fridge just in case but how should I have done it?

And how long will something like that last in the pantry unopened if I preserve it correctly? Thinking I probably should add a use by date.

Now if my loganberries and blackberries and figs and blueberries would all just hurry up and grow just think of all the things I could bottle!

Looks good! I'm doing a chook pen renovation at the moment. Afraid I only got as far as carrying the timber up before deciding it was too **** hot
