Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

So my chookies are finally laying more than two eggs a day and I find myself with a glut of eggs.

Thinking quiche or frittata might be a good starting point to use up the extras. Anyone got any quick and easy egg recipe ideas?

I have a receipe from some polish friends for a dessert it uses heaps of eggs. Ill try to type it out for you tomorrow.

My Speckled Sussex who my dog mauled yesterday is worse than I thought. Found her left side all torn up too.

I've terramycined both wounds and she's seems ok. Eating, drinking and pooping.
She even laid an egg yesterday, found it in the cage with her when I got home.
My poor sausage

How is the SS K Spot? Sorry the dog got her. Poor thing. DH has an English Setter. She has gotten loose a couple times and attacked the chickens

. I fell in love with the SS breed and wanted to start a breeding program with them. However, the dog ate up all the SS hens. Even some SS mix. She did get others, but DH thought because they are so much flashier colored than the other chickens, that maybe the dog is drawn to get them.

Well crap hey. I thought they were more a dawn and dusk predator. How do you know it was a fox specifically? I ask as the though of daytime fox visits is rather worrisome.
we had a pet fox and they are more active dusk and dawn to feed but are quite active and playful during the day. This will also vary to living conditions and that of the environment they are in.

My sister has a couple of thousand sheep out at Oberon and I've seen a fox in the middle of the day running the fence line , trying to get into the lambs. I guess it depends how hungry they are.

She's hanging in there, but I think I'm going to take her to be euthanased this afternoon. I can see organs through the tears and (I know this is gross) but she has some maggots in the wound too. She's not interested in food anymore, so I think the kindest thing for her is put her out of her misery.

I'm very fond of SS's. I might pick up some day olds (I have a broody Orpington) or purchase a pullet a bit later.

In other news, my new pup was born last night
