Oh yeah I hate wild rats, the adult domestic rats I can deal with but not attached to but the babies are absolutely adorable. These guys haven't opened their eyes yet but in a week or 2 they will reach their peak cuteness, there's 12 in this litter, cuteness overload!! Most of these guys are already sold,

My son finally caught the chicken! It is a good looking chicken. Pity I don't like its twitching hahaha the other one just seems nicer!

Now that I have close up pics any chance its a girl or boy. Haven't heard any crowing...

I struggled with sexing mine AusieChicks, but I think we need a better photo of the saddle feathers - around the tail. Eventually I worked out that my male lavs showed gold leakage and the Isabel males went much darker - it was unmistakeable. At about 12 weeks you should see fine feathers around the tail if it's a boy. Girls have much wider, rounded feathers around their tail. It's a long wait and as far as I can tell, one of the few down sides to this breed. Except maybe the long wait for eggs.

This one has scrawny tail feathers compared to the othertone. They are 12 weeks this week. This 1 also seems darker and has a puff head. The other one doesn't.

Aras are slow to develop. I believe the first crow can depend on what other birds are around. I only had one crow at a time - and rehomed 6 boys at 11 weeks. Only one had crowed. Once they left, a late developer started crowing - Toothless. It seems that if you are keeping them with an adult roo, they may take a little longer to crow.
The crest is good - they are supposed to have that. : ) Another indicator of a boy is 3 rows of bumps on the pea comb, but I can't tell from your pics about that either. If their comb is more cusion like then that doesn't work. I'd take it as a good indication that you have a hen if there is no crowing and you don't have an adult or bigger roo. Also, the comb doesn't look very pink to me. My boys were a LOT redder at 11 weeks.

@cwrite no roosters here. But this one does fight with one of the silkies the same age.

I think its time to sell it anyway. I only wanted 1 of each and I like the other 1 better
and I think my daredevil needs to be rehomed too. Despite clipping her wings she was on a car and in neighbors yard again *sigh*
