Hey appps while the fact that the egg she laid is a bit soft, the fact that Carl (if it is her) is laying at all is a good sign and with some calcium, she could be fully recovered.

Hercules is very handsome devinandfeather.

Luke I am with satay on the Cream Legbars; that is a lot of money to possibly end up as predator fodder

[satay] Well, “hello” right back at ya cute little bubbers!

I had a look at the Brissie forecast and they are predicting a minimum of 6 and maximum of 17 next week! What the? Brrrrrrrrrrrrrr

I put the rain coats on the coop and run yesterday evening as there was a chance of showers today. Of course, because I was prepared, it has not rained yet but there is a chance through until Sunday so I can just leave them on. Added bonus is that they seem to keep in some warmth also.

Got my first shell less egg today. Hopefully it's a one off as our water supply is 7% calcium carbonate. It makes chalk just by leaving the water in the sun. If I get more I'll have to look into absorb toon supplements.

I don't know about saving the chickens but I am thinking about saving myself  I have already told @IamSamSam That I am legging it onto a plane down to her house next week if it gets too cold and she has a nice warm fire place.

Haha!  Good idea!  @IamSamSam
, you have enough room, don't you? :lau

I wish we had a fireplace at home.

I am sure she does. I'll pick you up on the way

Lol

Sam your fire looks beautiful and warm!

I have some news! I understand if no-one jumps up and down for joy but it is pretty exciting for me … after 20 weeks + 3 days, a successful hatch and still playing mumma to two beautiful little girls Cilla laid a perfect egg today

At bed time tonight KiKi was in the middle; Cilla and Crystal were pushing so close together that poor little KiKi was hardly touching the roost and was basically being held up by bodies. So, I gave Cilla a gentle push to the left and Crystal to the right so that KiKi could actually roost and snuggle down. I was amazed at the warmth coming off them! Obviously I know they are warm blooded but when I touched them to move them, they were so cosy and warm like they had been sitting in front of a fire.
