My bubs spending some time outside
An egg has just pipped! So excited, this one will be the 8th, I've got seven in the brooder at the moment and I have some due in the next couple days and 4 Hampshire's due at the end of the monthe Aaah chicks are the best, I'm so impatient though! Once this batch of chicks are reading to move into a coop I'll be getting some pekin bantams, No matter what I always have my hands full with different types of animals. Got these baby chicks and two lambs to feed late at night, so i'm pretty-dang tired.

I would love some bee hives but being hubby and I are boith allergic it wouldn't be great. I have looked into native bees kind of but not done enough research yet.We are having an upgrade! Biiiiig plans on the horizon for large enclosure and lots of baby chooks and ducks! Yeehaa! Also going to get my beehives later in the year! Finally! Sooo excited about the new projects to come!
Bit of a disaster here on Saturday. While I was out son was in bed and was woken by the dogs going off in the covered area. He went out and found my little light Belgian baby had been attacked and killed by a butcher bird..Thankfully everyone else was ok. R.I.P little one
Congrats, your well on your way to that omelet. Tell hubby I bet it doesn't taste like marble.Howdy folks, busy Monday at work [snafu] just a quick visit with some newsFortunate1 glad to see you found us

So, there was huge excitement in the hen house again today, lots of singing with KiKi leading the chorus; but on checking, no first egg. She was, however, in the nest box. 30 minutes later KiKi kicks off the chorus again and this time, for good reason .. 4 days after her sister's first egg, KiKi has laid her first egg
I asked hubby to “please hold the egg while I take a picture” .. his response “Egg? It looks more like a marble!”

I got 16 eggs last week .. not a bad effort for 6 little banties and of that 6, not all are laying.
During the work week we do not eat eggs much if at all, so I gave away 1/2 dozen to my neighbour; will scramble up 1/2 a dozen for the gals for breakfast in the morning and today, because I find hubby and son will eat them if they are in the fridge, ready to munch on, I made some Devilled Eggs .. yummo!
