Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

Don't know about exploding (who was it got the face full of that last year? They will know lol) but mine started to stink around day 14. Don't know how long it takes from stink to pop though.

I have before but I could smell a stench as I walked into the room with the bator. Not a pleasant experience.

Yay as I was logging in this morning I was thinking about you and wondering whether your eggs hatched. Great news. Hope the other one hatches for you too. :weee

Oh it is so sweet :) and the other one must be making noises in the shell because it has a whole 48 egg incubator to itself and it's cuddled up next to the egg. Even had it's head across it giving it a cuddle at one stage lol

Awww how sweet! Hopefully come out soon! Thanksguys, as long as it doednt start smelling ill give them a few days and do them all again :) then leave them.

Housewarming bonfire/bbq tonight. Kids coming round earlier to ride the quads and motorbike, will be a fun social day! Wont be good for my weight loss challenge haha but thats ok. Had weigh in this morning and lost 600g this week :-D thats what im aiming for each week.

Life is good :) enjoy ur weekends whatever u have planned!

May I suggest RodneyRooster .... that you remove both suspect eggs, and replace them with dummy eggs, or even a couple of golf balls ( although that might not be safe, as they are hard, and might crack against the good eggs ) ....

This way, you can be absolutely sure of no explosions, or other nasties, as long as she 'thinks' she has the required number beneath her ( how they count --- I haven't a clue ) .... ping pong ball replacements might also be a thought ???

I have been incubating eggs for more than 40 years, and I have never had one explode in the incubator.
If an egg smells or explodes it must have been a very old egg to begin with.

Thanks Ash :) or M! Haha we always just call u ash :p

Hopefully theyll be just fine then :) will still recandle sometime this week tho and hopefully leave them with just the ones that are going to hatch

Your geese are stunning. Sorry for your loss though. Shame geese and I don't get on as I would love to have some. I had a pair years ago and they attacked me constantly. I gave them to my neighbour who still has them some 6 years later but if I go into her pen they will still try to to attack me to this day. They leave her alone.
I am on day 10 of my Belgian/marans hatch. Hopefully some nice pics coming up soon from all the hatches about to happen.
Hahaha funny how things work out my geese are too friendly had since goslings and raised them without being a mum the are so cute they imprinted on me and follow me around now they don't even go to attack me besides from the ganders if I get close to the babies good luck with your hatch aswell

HELP! The second chick just hatched only 2hrs after it pipped and it seems to have a red blobby thing in the shell and it's still attached to it by a thin thread so dragging the shell round.

What to do?

Edited to add the first chick was pecking at it where it joined to the chick so have put the new one and it's shell in a little container inside the incubator so it can't get pecked or drag the shell round as much. It seemed to be trying to escape it instead of resting from the hatch so hopefully it will stop now and get some rest.

Will it eventually fall off?
