Thanks everyone. While we didn't receive great news today . Our vet sent his scans to the uni in Gatton for a second opinion and they are not sure that it is cancer as it maybe from where he has torn his tenden. The uni's advice is to wait 2 weeks and rescan his leg as long as he is not getting any worse so we still have glimmer of hope for my boy.

Satay --- that is hopeful news, for sure.

We have lost 3 Golden Retrievers and 1 German Shepherd - all to cancer in the past. Plus 4 of my past 15 cats.

Goldens are renowned for it - 60% of Goldens deaths are as a result of cancer. So I know how you must be or have been feeling. Gutted. ....

I so do hope and pray that Zeus only has tendon troubles and nothing else. As long as he is pain free, eating well and is 'normal' in being happy etc., that is the main thing.

What breed is Zeus ? I think you mentioned his breed soooo many pages back, but don't know how to find quickly any previous posts. And my memory is cactus !!

Best of good wishes and hefty wellness vibes going out to you and Zeus.

Cheers .... Anniebee

I have been reading everyone's sorry for not replying this weekend. We took Zeus to the vets on Saturday for his sore leg and it looks like he has cancer. We are waiting confirmation today. Unfortunately there is no treatment available for this. Apparently it is very common for dogs of his age so I am a little heartbroken right now :hit. The vets have given him some good painkillers so at least he isn't in pain. On a happier note have marans eggs and the Millie fleur Belgians due tomorrow.

:-( hope its just a tendon, keep us updated of course, our thoughts are with u, hopefully with the painkillers he'll still have a pleasant time for a while.

Good luck with the hatches!!

Good morning friends :frow

Sam .. fantastic photos!  The Snow Pea and Bee are great.  Wooo hooo a Frizzle!  What a little cutie!  Sending heaps and heaps of pullet vibes your way :fl   Your Maran’s have grown up!  I am so pleased to see Gretel is doing great.

Anniebee your garden in bloom looks gorgeous.

locknest4 great job on the grass buffet .. I think it will look too good to let chickens eat it ;)

satay oh no!  I am so very sorry to hear Zeus’ diagnosis … hopefully they are wrong and you get some good news today :fl

RodneyRooster also hoping to hear some good news from you today also :fl

I harvested some Snow Peas on the weekend, blanched and froze them .. I have a couple of stragglers so will be able to do a harvest on those soon.

My window veggie garden has grown sooo much!  All three of the tomato plants have flowers now and the middle one has two tiny tomatoes.  My middle capsicum has tiny little capsicums on it also.  Sadly, the heavy rain early last week knocked off the first flower which was a bit sad :(   Harvested 2 x tiny red chili's off the rainbow chili tree also.

I planted Purple Delight Climbing Beans last weekend and they sprouted on Saturday and are shooting up like something from Jack and the Bean Stalk ;)

Ooooh great! Hopefully ull get golden eggs to top it off ;-)
G'morning folks. Satay, sorry to hear your dog is so unwell, sending you love & hope all will be ok. RR, an exciting day .... cant wait to hear when your bubs arrive :D Like Teila i spent yesterday in my garden with veg & herbs. Tidying up mostly. My girls get heaps of green veg & most days. They dont seem to eat a lot of their pellets, though they are healthy & eggs are all fine. Awesome photos guys. Wish i had your talent! Have a great day!

Since mine free range every day we go through stuff all pellets as well which is great for the pocket! Long as theyre getting their vitamins elsewhere and are happy thats great :) well done

Haha typical isnt it, the sweetest most lovable ones just have to turn out the wrong gender LOL. Hopefully u have more pullets than roos! Hopefully i do too haha. Well there u go as they are hatching at exactly the same time as mine i obviously cant forget their hatchdays :) such excitement for us both!

Xx

Thanks RR. Although all seemed good re my girls diet your confirmation is reassuring. I love growing herbs & like the idea of that natural nutrition for my hens. They free range for a couple of hours when i get home from work & most of the weekend (same as me i guess :)

satay while still not the best news, that slight glimmer of hope sounds much better than the anticipated confirmation. I am also sending positive vibes yours and Zeus’s way.

Fancy and RodneyRooster, while everyone’s bubbies are special, yep, those are the cutest little bubs I have seen today!
