Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

Hey Teila , that's true it's all a matter of what's available to you and it really comes down to trial and error.

We've had a busy few weeks here, our girl won the young rider state title and finished 14 th nationally.

Having a horsey break for 2 weeks now.

Congratulations to your daughter and her horse. Wonderful news, wonderful result - well done. Lovely photograph too, your daughter is beautiful.

..............

Interesting about the Pestcene - I have used it in the 'sleeping box' !! and after cleaning out of the coops - underneath new wood shaving cover. Don't do it often though.

Most interesting that it can contribute to Parkinsons' ... in humans (?). I have always worn a mask when dusting, but had to do a bit of research on whether chickens ( some of whom apparently do have reactions to Pestcene ) ... can get neurological problems from this source as well. Not much found on that, but several links about neurological problems in chickens. I have wondered about that for my golden hackle feathered friend out the back, who behaves so oddly - you know who I mean ...

I will be looking for orchardist sulphur in the future ... just to be on the safe side.

Thanks for the info on all that - for all of us.

Cheers -

Yep, probably what my girls think when they come looking for me.

Check it out, Beatrice is now a year old (I got her in January and she was 8 weeks), and her feathering is changing. She's getting white tips on the ends of her feathers, most noticeably around her hackles. Also now she's not broody she's back to being sooky again, wanting to be babied, rather than hatch them.

Not testing for limes disease in Australia is a political thing. The are trying to insist that it's not here and that anyone with it contracted it overseas, however I think if the actually tested everyone With the symptoms in Australia they would find a few thousand cases in people that have never been interstate let alone overseas

I share that argument. You can't find something you don't look for.

The people I know with it have not left the country to get it. Although one did to get treatment.

Good morning folks

Her colours are looking great. I find that with my Belgians it takes at least a year to see there true colourings.

Fancy congratulations on your daughters win ...she looks beautiful. Surviving the Treasure Hunt Weekend well they are good kids. In regards to my gorgeous 'lousy' girls ..when you Orchardust Sulfur do you mean a product called Mantec 700g Sulfer Dust from Bunnings?

Sulphur dust is fairly easy to buy. I just refer to it as ' orchardist sulphur ' because we are surrounded by orchards and our local Roberts store sell it's by the kilo or in 20k bags.
