Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

Fancy - So many tiny chickies to care for and house.   They grow so quickly too.  ... .

Wonderful news, and hope all goes well with the expected hatchings and Wilkies' wee ones.

.....

satay ...... so happy to hear that your little Pekin returned home safely, after a chookie mini holiday.... Might have been nice if she'd left a note as to her whereabouts !! :lau

Cheers all -

For sure. I have no idea where she was. I checked their entire pen and all around the back of the parts of their pen. Hopefully she hasn't done a disappearing act again on me this morning.

I have a Light Sussex hen and all her white feathers have been stained brown. Nowra show is in a week and luckily she isn't one I'm taking but she will be going to a show in July. Does anyone know what I can use? I saw someone using a purple shampoo on their white leghorns and after they looked so bright white!

You can wash them with purple shampoo from horseland . Just be sure to rinse them well. Best to add to water and make a bath rather than apply directily on chicken , it can be difficult to wash out and it stains your hands.

Almost any pet shampoo is usually good. I use a puppy and kitten shampoo on my silkies if they are going to a show.

Fancy what an amazing story and truly brave hen....she also very pretty ...what bred is she?

Sjturner... I am a newbie with chickens ...so I am fascinated that chickies will share hatching!! Another reason to love them!

She is a ' Wylkie ' a name I made up for silkie cross wyandotte. She loves to mother. I have given her chicks in broad daylight , up to a week old and she just accepts them as a gift. She has hatched out a few of her own this time to ' little man ' also a wylkie so it will be interesting to see how they turn out.
