Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

are there smaller ones that are cheaper, its just that Ive come to the conclusion that its so much easier to get chicken breeds in eggs rather than pullet because it costs people that sell them less. i really don't want to pay a lot for an incubator. ill only hatch about 5-6 chicks in it.

I am probably not going to be much help from you as to where to buy stuff as i live rural and we have a big produce at Gatton that i get most things animal related from. I have not yet found a place that sells DE so have never used it. Most meds you will need to get from a vet if you need them. (except for wormers and lice treatments you can get them from a produce store) I get all my feeders, waterers, and anything chooks, duck, turkey related from the produce. Some times they laugh when i go in and request something but they are usually good at finding it for me .

Thanks Satay - I'll have to have a shop around and make some inquiries. I'm not far from Dural so there should be a few places up and around there that will be able to help us find what we need. I didn't think it would take so much to set the girls up. But we ant the little ladies to be comfortable and enjoy their new home.
Im South Sydney and I use www.barterandsons.com.au/ They sell chicks too though I got my Isa browns from Helensburgh. They deliver and are very friendly. Prompt at fixing any delivery errors too. (only happened once) - AND

Thanks for the heads up on barterandsons.com.au IamSamSam - I'm heading straight there after I've written this to see what goodies they have.

Can't get enough of all the great info on BYC at the moment. It's like I've discovered a new addiction.

couldn't i use my natural incubators....My HENS? (the only problem is you have to wait for a broody one)

You sure could and i do that as well. I currently have a black sex link sitting on 2 geese eggs a friend gave to a few weeks back. Looks so funny as she is so far off the ground but she is not moving lol. I also have turkeys sitting on heaps of eggs too. My 3 girls like to share the one nest. You can use whatever you have available to hatch.
