Australians - Where are you all????

Pics
Well there goes my Easter long weekend plans... I left to go to my block of land very early this morning- but about half an hour into the trip- I had a feeling I had left behind the earphones for the detector. I stopped the car to look- and not only did I realise that I had in fact left them behind- meaning no gold detecting without them- but also smelt a burning rubber kind of smell meaning something is up with the car. I turned around and came home- knowing full well there is no hope of fonding a mechanic who could fit me in today. I had so many other plans and am so disappointed that I am now stuck home for the next 4 days.

Hope you all have a great Easter break..Im off to weed the garden for while to take out some frustration in a productive way.

Oh Ducky, I am so sorry - if it is something simple maybe the RACV could fix it - if you are with them? They can do all sorts of wonderful things now.
If not, weeding sounds constructive albeit boring - maybe you could teach a duck a party trick, like walking on a lead?!

No kidding, I am doing that with one of my Malays at the moment,and have been told that if I succeed she will star at one of the country shows. Anyway, I hope that whatever happens, you manage to salvage your Easter and have a good one.

I think it is the wheel bearings.. So I have to wait until next week I think...but I just found why I am supposed to stay home...I HAVE MORE DUCKLINGS HATCHING!!! i was going to go for a quick drive and just see how things go. There is a real burning rubber smell- so it odes worry me- but at least the car is still driveable for now.

As if I need more babies right now...I picked up a little gosling yesterday- surprised there is any still hatching this close to winter- and I still have to rehome the two mucovies as well. The Guinea keets will be going to their home soon...lucky because I will be needing that brooder box for the ducklings.

I was going to go away too, but I had to work. Over the easter long weekend. Only for the first two days too! (friday and Saturday)

I need a break. From everything, life is starting to take a toll on me.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

Lest we forget.

Well...things are back to normal again - 3 brooders filled with babies- the smell of wet ducklings coming from the bathroom and the peaceful sound of babies softly peeping away. I have decided to take another break from incubating and wont set any more eggs for a while again. 15 water fowl- 4 guinea keets and 13 eggs in the bator is more than enough for this time of year. I have realised tonight that vent sexing when they have just had a swim makes the job so much easier. Off to finish them all now with leg bands to put on the girls.

100% true! It's always so quiet on here at night - like now, for instance - and there is a certain air of serenity about BYC...
How are y'all, anyhow?
