Thank you! I hope they are all pullets. I am incubating some of Hinkjc's lavender orp eggs right now. I have 12 out of 16 developing. I am going to breed for Lavender Australorps.

Good deal, I always had great hatches from Hinkjc's eggs also. Good luck with your hatch and can't wait to see your Lavender Australorps.

In pic 1 the 2 in the back are roos, if you had any other roo's they would like those 2, some girls just grow there combs and wattles faster,
i have 2 sexlinks that are the same age, and 1 girl has grew at least 3 weeks faster than other one.

Hi- I have black austrolorps and all of yours look like hens to me. The only rooster I saw was in the background of 1, 5, & 10. I think they are all beautiful!

You say you are worried about 3 & 7, I don't think they look roo-ish either. Their combs and wattles would be a much brighter red by even earlier than 26 weeks if they were roos (IMO).

Gorgeous hens!

They are suppose to be 26 weeks, they were suppose to be 13 weeks when I got them, but I too, thought that they should have larger and redder comb and wattles by now. They are suppose to be the same age....... so, your guess is as good as mine on that. It's seems that there are different ages to me. Some are smaller than the others. I have one Roo that is huge compared to them and the other two are about the same size. I have one Roo that is suppose to be 28 weeks, but he looked like a hen up until about a month ago. I was shocked to see the saddle and hackle feathers develop so fast out of no where.

Interesting...well, if they are 26 weeks I say her strain is pretty slow maturing! My 2 Aussie girls (hatchery stock) are 25 weeks old and they are laying now, red comb / wattles and all. I think they looked like the pullets in your pics when they were around....ummm......maybe 20 or 21 weeks old?

Could just be the difference in strains.
Either way, they still look like pullets to me....so far!

Good luck on the Lav Australorp project. I really like the looks of Australorps...if I get into serious breeding someday I think they would be the first breed I would try.

I was also guessing around 21-22 weeks at the most. So, I am hoping in another 3 to 4 weeks they start laying.

I think maybe she just got the dates switched around her hatches some how, and put them a few weeks older than they really were.

No big deal, but I am getting anxious waiting....................
