I will post some of my chick soon to get opinions.
Is there a big difference between the combs of pullets and cockerels at 4 weeks, or is it too early to tell?

Are you talking about the pics I posted? Mine are now 8 weeks and still have about the same size combs as at 4 weeks. lol. Well maybe a tiny bit bigger.

Looks like it was your pics Gale! LOL!

Here are a few pics of Shadow the Australorp. Is she/he a pullet or cockerel? She is now about 4 1/2 weeks old.

I will try to get some better photos and upload them soon.
Thanks!

oops. here is a link to my website until I can figure out how to make the pictures bigger... I am new to the forum and I am still learning! I followed the directions that I found here on the forum, but the options on my computer are different and for some reason it won't show me the address of the source that I need to post the pictures.

Do Australorps grow faster than other breeds, or are they just naturally bigger (since they will end up as a slightly bigger bird)? Our australorp is the same age as our delaware, and the australorp seems bigger and more buff, even though they are both only 4 1/2 weeks old. Is that because of her breed or because she is a he? Or does it just depend on the bird?

my australorps are twice as heavy as my easter eggers, which are the exact same age (within a day).

they're 3-4 months old
