Australorp Roo?

Do you think they are all pullets? It's early but experience raising that breed gives you a better chance of being accurate.
So all the pics I originally posted are of the same bird. To compare, here is the one I have no question is a pullet. (The other three may have slight combs, but not as pronounced as the first.)

I'm very pleased with the quality of my Welp birds and found their pricing reasonable. However they have a 25 chick minimum and you have to order multiples of 5 per breed so it's a little rigid for a lot of backyarders. :)

I was able to sell off my extras as POL pullets, but not everyone wants to do that or has the space to raise that many chicks.

I've been very happy with all the chicks I've gotten from Ideal. Just got 12 more today, in fact.

I really can't say. I know people have been surprised at how early I could sex my Blue Australorp boys so I've been really leery of attempting to apply it to anything other than Welp Blues.

This little fellow, the biggest comb at 3 weeks, is now my founding flock sire:

I can't see very clearly in the red-light pictures, but I think I see a couple significant combs in the first and third photos.
Wow! That is impressive!

Yes, in my fantasy flock, I could easily order five each and add 25 birds. Meanwhile in stupid reality, my coop is not that big.... Yet. :D

My pullet had a comb like your original set of pics at 3 weeks. She got it almost immediately - I was worried - but it hasn't grown since (now 8 weeks and def a pullet). She's also Cackle, so might just be how their birds grow.

Edit to add: oh looking at your post again, looks like your stock came from Hoovers, nm!

I think you're probably in the clear, but, as always, time will tell. Good luck!

Oh, great to hear! That is really reassuring. Not that we wouldn't enjoy having more baby chicks in our future... :) I suppose time will tell. These girls came from Hoover's, but our Welsummers came from Cackle!

Just so my other girls don't feel left out...

The "head hen," or not, depending if they all turn out to be pullets.

This girl aka "Blackie2" has slightly less white on her face than the suspected roo.

This chick has the least white on her face aka "Blackie3" and a little more prominent comb coming in, but it's hard to say if it's just because of the contrast with the black on her face.

Well, game on! I heard a distinctly different noise today from the brooder, a, "Cuck-a!". Lol <<face palm>> Not quite sure who it came from, but my money's on the first chick, or the last chick pictured.

Our "head hen" who was giving me rooster vibes from day one...

Five weeks tomorrow

What do you think? @3KillerBs
