Australorps breed Thread

There is slight variation depending on which one lays the egg, but not by much.  I think that when I have more females added to my flock, it's going to be hard to tell who laid the egg unless I catch them in the act! :D
lol. We catch them then put their breed color band on their leg and they get a special treat when they were finally caught in the act!!
we had that issue as well when all our brown layers laid, only our chicken whisperer son can tell them apart;) now it's little easier as only 2 or 3 are laying:/ I'm definitely going to have get me some of the different Australorps next time.

You would love them!

My 2 splash ones and that big blue in the back on the right, were from hatching eggs that I bought from Kurt. The other 2 blue ones and that black one, I bought as pullets from another person here in Arizona.

This is Kinra--one of my Original BAs from Cackle hatchery. She is going on 7 years old!

Added: The hen on the right is a Hupp Farm's Blue Australorp.

Hello all! I'm fairly new to chickens (less than a year) and I'm still not certain of the breeds of a few of my flock. I purchased as chicks from a local farm store and was told I was buying Orpington. I am not certain and believe I may have australorps. Opinions please :)
