Australorps breed Thread

I do love my Winn and Dixie! I was watching a YouTube video on the "correct" way to hold a chicken so she feels safe. It was pretty much how I was doing it, just a little finger placement adjustment around the legs. I practiced on Dixie, of course, since she does not complain about anything I do. She was very patient as I discovered I can't really hold a chicken like the guy in the video, since his hands are 3 times the size of mine! I'm sure Dixie could have told me that, and maybe she was in her little clucky voice!

Coop Z, don't worry, I can't do it perfect like the videos. I can come close, but the chickens are too big, and my hands too small. As long as I get the one leg with my thumb, they seem to know to keep the other leg properly positioned, so it looks like I'm doing it right. It's our secret.

Due to personal health issues with myself and my wife the Blue Black Splash Aussie Rattlesnake Ridge Line will be coming to an end. If anybody wants to make a road trip for my breeders or young cockerels that I kept let me know. Fair pricing, I just want the line to continue. Kurt 304-258-9468

I'm sorry too Kurt, hopefully someone will take you up on your flock. Too bad WV is so far, I could almost convince myself it would be worth doing with your fine birds even though I've not bred birds before.

I am too far to pick up birds....which makes me sad. Is there an chance at all you have any hatching eggs to ship? I would love to have a good line of australorps.

Hello everyone. I got this chick from my local Big R and nobody knows what breed. I was wondering if she could be a BA. One pic when she was a week old and one at 2 weeks old and current 3 week old pic.
