Here are a couple pics of my brooder set up. This was my breakfast nook prior to baby chicks. Yes, that's a security camera on them. DH set that up, and we literally have chicken tv.

I like the brooder set up. I am thinking of setting up something similar in the garage.

Now to get some of my Adult Daughters stuff out of there.....

I am also interested in breeders in or near GA that might be interested in selling some juvenile birds.


What kind of hatching rate do you normally see,say out of a dozen?


side note: Has any one noticed a difference in the hatching/survival rate (not sure of the proper term) between hatching eggs picked up in person and those shipped thru the mail?

My first set of shipped hatching eggs will be hatching in a couple weeks. I'll let you know how they do. I do know that 15 out of 15 arrived unbroken.

I usually get 90-100% out of the eggs I hatch.

As for eggs I've received from other breeders, I received 17 eggs from California (I'm in Florida) and 15 hatched.

How old are they? White is ok in juveniles. You don't want purple.

The white feathers should be replaced with black when the molt for the final time. The purple is from too much oil. That might get better too.


Green is the correct color for them.

I dont have any pictures of the feather but i do have pics of them with me quail.
