The bottom of the feet would be yellow. That does not look like yellow to me.

Some breeders breed to Orpington to get the size back. My guess is that the Oprington is coming out more on yours.

He is a good sized boy but he looks like an Australorp.

I'm going to say rooster as well... sorry

The comb is quite red for his age, posture is implying rooster too. I'm not 100% sure but I think I can see saddle/hackle feathers coming in, but its hard to tell.

I had the same thing happen to me earlier this year... bought a couple of Australorp chicks who were supposed to be pullets. One died at 2 days old and the other ended up a rooster...

I'm so bummed ! He's so sweet and his eyes. Are wonderful he is a lover as well. Ugh! I'm sad cause I can't keep him. I already have one rooster controlling 10 hens. I know they will hurt each other as well. Anyone in California want a adorable little man? The little bantam with him is " chicken little. She will be sad to see her friend go:(

@YgritteChick , that yellow looks suspiciously like Jersey Giant to me... Maybe a rooster jumped the fence, so to speak. :/ If that's a standard sized Australorp pullet/hen next to him, I suspect you've got a JG.

The pullet next to Oreo is a D'uccle bantam. I need to take a picture of Oreo next to my big girls cause my bantam is full grown.

I was referencing a picture posted by YgritteChick... But I believe, based on tail, carriage, and comb development, that you have a male Oreo.

Well, that makes a lot of you telling me my friendly pullet is a friendly cockerel . Should I wait longer ? I have our rooster and I don't want them fighting it out. When they free range they pay no mind to each other but are kept in separate coops. Thank you everyone ! I did have my suspicions just didn't want to believe it:(..

How many hens have you got? Maybe there is enough for them to co-exist peacefully. And if not, there is the perfect excuse to buy more lol
