Australorps breed Thread

I'd turn on the vac and spray a serious bug killer into the suction. That should end any prospect of hatching or having 'Mommy Dearest' from having another go.

Finished up the rabbit slaughter about noon today. I took pity on the folks and helped...that way I could see that everything was done to suit OL' DAD.

Oh I like you.

We have black widows all over our yard in the summer. I just killed two, a male and a female in my garden squash yesterday. The day before that I finally found one that kept building a web around the spigot on our well.

Two weeks ago, one landed on my arm while I was laying there, trying to fall asleep. That was a long night.

I keep cinder blocks on one side of my house to lure them in that direction, then kill them. This spring we are unleashing thousands of praying mantises onto their big black butts. Those and mud daubers are their only natural predators around here.

@gachooks. Too cute! I can't wait till that's me :). Just need a few more weeks for the weather to start warming up and somebody to go broody on cue! :)

From what I've read on the studies regarding relocating the snakes, it has to do with them not being able to find water, food, and shelter. In addition when there are other snakes present too, and there usually are, they will fight the newcomers usually to the death.

Sounds like a personal problem.

Number nine tried to drown one of her chicks today. She brought them to the duck pen and hopped up on the side of the pond. Found the little guy full of water and only his beak was sticking out. Threw him in the hatcher to dry off and plopped him back outside. He recovered well.
Oh yeah, I have Black Australorps: Assisted hatch Fuzzbutts Daddehs
Cute chicks! Congratulations!

And a few more: This is a Blue K

I have been breeding for more dark blotches in my splashes this year, what do you think of this one?

I am going to wait another 6 months to pick the winners that will breed because they have not matured in color or conformation.
