Australorps breed Thread

Hello from Oregon, I am just curious if you know much about Dunlaps Hatchery in Idaho? They are the second oldest hatchery in the US,started in 1918. They say they have had Australorps from the beginning and have maintained a pure strain. Do you think they have some of the old bloodlines? I have 3 pullets from there right now, but in the future, when my other hens get too old or are culled, I hope to get some good Australorps.

You say you have hens from there right now. Post some pic's of them. We all just love pic's. LOL

This is my 5 week old Australorp chick. She/he's probably one of the friendliest of the 28 we have. It loves my earrings!

Trying to get rid of flat backs, getting the nice wide shaped U with a nice sweep. Also trying to tighten the feathers and lengthen the legs, as I don't care for "low riders". I hatched about 50 Aussies this year three dozen were chicks purchased from a judge friend. Hoping to have a competitive class against Mr. Sherman. I got reserve Aussie out of 30+ nice Aussies many of which were Mr. Sherman's.

nice job cubakid..did you add a little langshan somwhere back?.. they are and should still be the great bird of curves..in feb issue of poultry press bob whitney has champion hen..she is fantastic in person..elegant well put together bird.

Great job with these. Are these from this years program? Can you show us some of them?
