Australorps breed Thread

Okay are you ready for cuteness overload LOL

Here are our newest additions. The little one went from pip to out in 2 hrs and still had its cord attached.

They are taking forever to go from scruffy to the little fuzz ball stage! They are both over 24 hours old now

What do you think, black or very dark blue? I started off thinking black but now Im wondering if thy are actually a very dark grey colour so possibly a dark blue?

So Cute ! They do look a little scruffy ...are they under warming lights ? maybe a light wash & dry would do it ..
May still have egg goo on them

They are in an emergency brooder because my plan to slip them under the broody was a fail, twice. Till then I had to leave them in the incubator.

It's built from hermit crab tank parts :)

I just hatched out 22 chicks, a few of which are Bielefelder cockerel over Australorp hen. I'm curious to see how they'll look as the grow, but for now I'm already seeing differences in the "fluff" patterns and coloring. Oh....and one of them turned out to have a Naked Neck Turken father. Oops!
