Australorps breed Thread

i have one girl that has purplish and green sheen and is quite bigger than my other pullet although a month apart in age im hoping to have babies from her my other pullet is smaller and only has greenish sheen shes almost 5 months

The green sheen one is actually the proper colour. Purple is normally something you try not to breed for in an australorp. They look gorgeous in the sun though don't they :)
 
yes their beautiful well its kinda violet guess same as green i dont plan on showing just want to breed for bigger size and mature quickly i wonder if i crossy new hampshire pullet with my black aussie roo or the production red what will be better
 
my roo has no purple although he is 4 months i wonder if he's going to grow more i love him he's quite active has been tryng to mate the poor little chickens since 10 weeks i call him perve

Roosters mature sooner than hens ...4 months is average ..
even when they are younger ...they are more dominant over the pullets ..
Not trying to mate them necessarily earlier but definitely bossing them around
