Beautiful Australorp! You will love Australorps. An amazing breed. I just remembered that I need to get some pictures of my flock. My rooster is now beginning to crow and try to breed. I haven't seen him succeed but just because you don't see something doesn't mean it doesn't exist. I'm going to be getting my incubator out soon.

I suggest getting at least a pair of Australorps, not just 1. They are usually not at the top of the pecking order in a mixed flock, but more towards the middle, and they are very social with their own kind. Yes, I'm aware there are exceptions, but I'm going by general rule of thumb.

Have to agree with the others. I got pairs or three of each breed when I got chicks. I had to pare down, and gave my least favorite birds to friends. Only one bird is all alone (with respect to breed) and she is lonely. The pairs or trios eat, forage, and roost together.

They're HERE! I am so over the moon excited! I swear, I am a kid at Christmas! I has PEEPS! Three Australorps, three Barred Rocks and two Speckled Sussexes. Are they not the cutest things EVER? Squeeeeeeeeeeee!
