auto chicken door- a particular one- what do you think? and most imp

I bought this "add a motor" from another site, ($10.00 cheaper) and as you can see, they offer a battery operated kit. as far as changing inside to outside, or vice versa, either a couple of small (nickel or quarter sized) pulleys mounted to change direction from vertical to horizontal and then back to vertical should work. I'm also thinking small copper tubing and fittings would also work. They're main concern seems to be keeping every thing lined up with the string and not allowing anything to abrade it. It's only 80# fishing line and they say not to use any thing else. that would be pretty easy to replace. this apparatus allows for 25" TOTAL TRAVEL. Make sure that if you use any of the zig-zag suggestions that you mount it absolutely rigid. I sort of like the tubing idea better, maybe with 45s instead of 90s. ?

Always check and make sure that ALL your birds are back in at the end of the night.

I just had an issue where all my girls learned when to get back to the coop and one of them made a mistake a few nights ago. I found her in the morning.

Don't trust the automatic door.

I have 2 of them but have run into a problem with them. How do you charge them? I have used a battery charger but would possible like to set up a solar charger with them. The problem is the doors have opened when I don't want them too don't know if because they are needing charged or what or if chickens have bumped connections. They open into a run so it hasn't been that big of a deal yet. Also my magnets have disappeared guess didn't put them up high enough and chickens got them off the building.

My first thought was what "Just Hatched" said, what if it closes and all the chickens aren't in. I am not much on trusting something automatic when it comes to live things.
