i'd guess there is enough pressure on it. when i depress the float valve (thanks for the term by the way) the water blows out as if it were under pressure.

but this gives me an idea. THX

yes, the yellow thing is not floating so it is holding the water pressure back. i need to take it apart.

i don't see how this is to work:

i've disassembled the cup/float unit. i believe that the water level pushes the yellow float up while it is full, thus sealing the supply valve. when the water drops, the float lowers, opening the supply valve and water leaks in.

the float is not sensitive enough to handle this. the spring & bouyancy of the float combined will not be moved by difference in water level.

i'm missing something here. many people love these things.

so far, i do not recommend this unit to another BYC'er. and if one is bought, buy it from a store or person who takes refunds w/o questions. the plastic pieces are so flimsy it is a good chance you get the unit cracked. but you won't know this until it is hooked up and has water pressure.

quite simply, i will not recommend buying these things. but trying them out for a few days before paying for them. junkers

i saw a person who had a toilet flush control system for a float system. i'm going to try this to provide a watering device for a monster mastiff we have. it drinks about 3gallons a day.
