Info on the mug rug swap

I have randomly picked names out of a basket and these are the names who will swap with each other. This swap is due the end of January. Contact your swapper and exchange addresses when you are ready. I have the master list if you forget who you have. Please make every effort to mail yours out before January 31st. If you have a delay in mailing yours out please PM me and your recipient so we are aware. We LOVE pictures, so please BE SURE to post a picture here of the mug rug you received and who you received it from.

minniechicks,cathiesue,kassaundra you will need to fill out the small customs form at the PO, here is a pic of what one looks like, you will need to check the gift box and put a value of 20 dollars or less, if you forget your swappers will have to pay a tax on the item. and a tax on the value of the item so they could be taxed twice on the rug. and we think we have it bad. if you have any questions please ask me or your swapper.



I can't wait to see what we get, remember the recipient is the one to post a pic of their mug rug they received.

I chained myself to the sewing machine, and now have a completed mug rug

The binding/boarder type thing gave me a run for my money, but I finally figured out a way to do it, don't know if it was technically right, but I used a method in tie making.

Having made 6 Mug rugs for Christmas I do want to tell you that on my first one I decided to make my binding 2 1/4 inches before folding in half, instead of the regular 2 1/2 inches. I finally got it sewn down

but I went with the 2 1/2 " after that much easier.

I'm not real binder savvy, I don't usually assemble my quilts in traditional ways. I made the backing fabric extra big and used the extra (cut to an exact size) as the binding. Probably not technically correct, but it now has a sewn down edge and no raw edges exposed!!!! lol
