Not everyone is home to lock their chickens up at night, though. The days are really short this time of year.

I agree it is lovely to greet our dear chickens in the morning--I especially like to put them to bed but I am having a knee replacement next week and there may be weekends in the future when I'll be out of town. Both situations are very stressful to me. The last time we went camping I drove all the way home in the morning and evening. It was a trek.
