automatic door opener

Is there an automatic door opener set up that will work for a swinging door like a trap door in the floor of a coop. The add a motor wont work here. Please help Thanks

It depends on how innovative you are construction-wise. We used a drapery motor and digital timer (counterweight was needed, but could be anything), and I don't see why you couldn't work out the lowering/raising of a trap door...
