Automatic garage door Chicken Door

Bringing back a dead post, BUT a monitor will not work with your set up. The only way a monitor realizes it is open is because the sensor is horizontal instead of vertical. I am working on cutting down a two inch thick steel insulated door for my coop and putting in a standard looking garage door. Hopefully with opener in the near future.

Hey how do u keep ur door shut without safety sensors. My garage door opener shuts but then automatically opens

Been a while. Hoping someone else has tried this or the OP can respond. I'm close to buying a garage door opener off craigslist, but i'm really curious how the travel (the distance the chain moves) was shortened so much for this to work. I know that garage door openers have a knob to control to up/down travel limits. I am assuming based upon the fact the OP got it to work that they can be adjusted so extreme that the chain only moves a couple feet, rather than 6-7 feet or whatever it is that they normally move?
