Autosexing Black Copper Marans?

Crossing a barred hen with solid rooster will result in male offspring with one barring gene,

The males will express one barring gene.. but must get two copies of that gene to express it... is that not correct?? I'm here to learn!

Ironically it says they’re auto sex according to a BYC member Oh boy. ( I did blot out the usernames, made me feel less guilty )

1 barring gene will show as dark barring, in males: B/b+

2 barring genes will show as light barring in males: B/B

Females carry one barring gene, but can show two types.

Females with 1 copy of barring gene dark barred: B/-

Females with 1 copy light barred: B's^d/-

Note they aren't pure for Marans... and when I was looking at hatcheries, I'm pretty sure this one JUST puts their name on another hatcheries chicks and they are drop shipped or something to that effect.

I DID see that, it confused me. I didn’t bother to read it through though. The eggs I ordered weren’t from there, they were from a local business.
