Autosexing breeds

There are two ways to achieve a sexlink

1. Non-barred rooster over barred female - this is what they do for black sex-links, using a RIR or NH male over a barred rock hen

2. Gold/silver based - use a gold (g/g) male over a silver (S/-) female - eg RIR over a columbian Rock or Delaware

we are talking about Autosexing breeds. not Sexlinks

If the male is g/g gold and the female S/- silver, then yes -

its s+/s+ for gold. not g/g

In the older books g was used for gold - see Genetics of the Fowl by FB Hunt and some older references - sorry, things do change but sometimes the old stuff just sticks when you wish it would go away!
