Just took chickens outside for little bit. Let them peckk around a little, then a hawk flew over and gathered all up and back inside. Don't know who was more scared, them or me.

Let the birds out in the open for third time and they loved it. Pecking at ground and having fun. Still a nervous mommy. I love my chickens.

Should I be giving vitamin mix in water every once in a while, or not unless their sick?

Once they are out of the brooder, I generally don't. Occasionally on really hot days, I might put some out. If I do, I always make sure to have plenty of plain water out there.

You're very welcome. As long as you're feeding a high quality feed, they should be getting all the vitamins and minerals that they need from it and in the proper balance. One of the reasons they say that treats should be given sparingly and never exceed 10% of their diet is because they can throw off the balance as well as protein.

Some are. Most of mine hate rain or snow.
