Auugg how to keep the birds out of the garden!!

Every one of them including turkeys and guineas are in the garden eating my not ripe tomatoes. My husbands ready to kill some birds. Crystal

fence?? either around the garden, or around the chickens..... a fence seems to be the best bet.

We put up a 6' wire fence.

Turkeys and guineas can jump fences. Plus we have a huge garden. It was my first thought too. C

My guineas free range and they don't bother the garden too much...peck at the tomatoes once in a while. My chickens are kept penned.

We put a 5' fence around mine this year.

Even though the coop fence is also 5' and the birds fly in/out at will, they wont get into the garden.

I gave up & just planted enough to "share."
(Chickens peck through the holes in the fence - they don't jump it, so I planted "extra" broccoli & tomato plants around the perimeter - for the chicens.)

We just happen to have their litter from last year in a pile composting about 5 feet from the garden. Turns out, they love this even more than the garden! It's loose and full of bugs! Perhaps a more enticing distraction will help?
