Maybe I don't understand it, but I think that all of the pictures I just uploaded as an avatar got resized to 96 x 96.

I think the image that shows up on the member card is bigger.

I got confused right now-- PeaDawg has the same avvy as @casportpony LOL!

Personally, I would rather see slightly fuzzy avatars than have to wait for a page full of clearer ones to load.

You can reduce the file size by compressing an image without changing the physical dimensions, but the overall quality of the image goes down.
