Average age for Wyandottes to start laying?

Please help!! I actually just witnessed my ROOSTER lay and egg. Obviously it was not one of my 9 week old girls!!
I am totally speechless and confused! I was unaware that this could happen. Are these eggs edible? Is this common? My rooster just appeared one day and he wakes me up every day with a cock-a-doodle so I know he is a rooster. I am 99% sure he is a Sebright from researching photos online. I am not sure of his age but I have had him since June and he is small. Any info will be greatly appreciated.

now you really can't get away without posting pictures!

I think I finally have a handle on the picture attachments now! Sorry for the wasted postings. I really appreciate the input, but please understand that I am new at this and I need help! I realize that it sounds crazy, but the photos of male Sebrights that I have seen look just like my mystery chicken. If anyone can ID my chicken from the pics, please let me know. The one in question is the smallest in the group.
