Average chicken age ?

    I have two hens that are 8+ years old. However they are lucky since most hens cannot live out their 'natural' lifespan (if butchered) or they could have been killed by predators or disease.

    Lots of chickens will live six to eight years,maybe nine.Super healthy ones live eleven to twelve maybe thirteen years,super lucky ones live to be fifteen or sixteen.

    Most of my chickens live about 8 years.
