Avian Flu WARNING!!!

My birds have free ranged from the begining of this outbreak,,, I have well over 300 birds here at the hight of summer,,, and I live in a state that has had AI,,,,,,,,,not a single bird of mine has died from AI,,, lost a few to cocci,, but that is another matter altogether with this wet summer we been having. As enola, tori and myself have all said,, the danger to you and your birds is slim to none.,, (steps back up on soapbox) that over 95% of cases happened in battery farm operations,, where birds are kept in deplorable conditions,, i have heard too many people say,, oh, the conditions are not that bad,,, well newsflash,, there is a reason why outsiders are not allowed inside those places,, don't believe me,, take a peak at layers in NZ
Aus
these countries are not the only guilty parties,, it's happening worldwide,, Germany, the UK,, everywhere,, even right here in the good ol' USA with meat birds as well as our layers
the plight of turkeys and ducks are not any better,,,, i've said it before and I'll say it again,, maybe Mother Nature,, or God,, or whatever higher power you subscribe to is telling us,,, enough is enough,, there are better ways,,, I may get in trouble for posting youtube on here,, not sure what the exact rules state,, but, I make no apologies,,, it's time we open our eyes,, something to think about (gets back down off soapbox)

Also: Editing for P.S. Still working on that AI Q&A post,,, really busy at moment though so may be a bit.

Wow!! you are so right. Those factory farm are terrible places. it is amazing that it has taken this long for the AI to really take hold. I do hope that factory farms
wake up and listen to mother nature and what she is saying. Thank you for your post.

I will consider letting my girls out. I have put them in their pen due to fears of them coming into contact with AI while out and about. I know they are happier when they
can mingle out in the gardens and eat bugs and so forth. Thanks again, your post was very helpful.

I think I or someone else has asked this already, but Is the ban just in NC?

I'm not sure exactly all of the states that are affected by the ban but I know Kentucky is affected so no, North Carolina isn't the only one with the ban. All I know is I hope they lift it pretty soon!!! I have a lot of biddies I need to sell!!
